Quick Wins

The Quick Wins widget shows you a short, ranked list of the best recommendations to act on right now. Instead of scrolling through every recommendation, Quick Wins does the prioritisation for you — surfacing the changes that offer the biggest saving for the least effort and risk.

How the ranking works

CloudCtrl scores each recommendation by weighing up three factors:

  • Estimated saving — larger savings score higher.
  • Implementation effort — quick, easy changes score higher than complex ones.
  • Performance risk — low-risk changes score higher than risky ones.
  • Confidence — estimates backed by solid usage data score higher than those based on limited data.

The result is a ranked list where the top items give you the most value for the least disruption.

What you see in Quick Wins

Each Quick Win entry shows:

  • The recommendation name and a brief description of why the resource was flagged.
  • The cloud account and resource affected.
  • The estimated monthly saving.
  • The implementation effort level and a note on any performance risk.
  • A plain-English explanation of why it ranked as a quick win (e.g. "High savings, low effort, low risk").

A "?" badge appears on any item where effort or risk data wasn't available — the score is based on defaults in that case, so treat those items with a little more scrutiny.

Adjusting the list

  • Use the count control to show more or fewer results (up to 50).
  • Apply filters (such as cloud provider or category) to focus the list on a particular area.
  • Your Risk Tolerance setting is respected — recommendations filtered out by your preset won't appear here.

Conflict warnings

If a Quick Win result also has a conflicting recommendation, this will be noted on the entry. Review the conflict before acting.
